It was just a usual morning taking the dogs for a walk when Emma Medeiros noticed something strange in her backyard. Three chunks of hotdog sat in the grass, as if waiting for her dogs to find and eat them. When Emma got closer, she made a horrifying discovery, the hotdogs were stuffed with razor blade fragments.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been so shocked in my life…,” Madeiros told Buzzfeed Canada. “It could have been someone’s child playing out front and not knowing any better and sticking that in their mouth. It’s terrible to think of.”
Her boyfriend, Kaleb Smith, said, “I mean, you see it in movies, you see it in big cities, you don’t think it’s going to happen to you in Regina, that’s for sure.”
The couple immediately filed a police report and Emma used Facebook to warn her neighbors: “I’m located on 6th and queen so anyone around me, PLEASE CHECK YOUR YARDS!!!”
The perpetrator has yet to be caught, but he/she faces up to $25,000 in fines and/or up to 2-years jail time.
